Nice to meet you.

I’m Sarah.

I have 28 years of retail, sales and shopper marketing experience, within the FMCG (supermarkets), General Merchandise and Hardware sectors, and now I run my own product based business.

I’m an experienced retail buyer/category manager, working closely with suppliers and making ranging decisions for large retail chain stores across New Zealand. These roles have taken me to international trade fairs in the USA, factory tours in China and I have managed large product launch initiatives, one of which involved visiting and working with supplier partners based in the UK.

I’ve also worked in sales and shopper marketing for large corporate product-based businesses, where it was my responsibility to gain product ranging and deliver new initiatives with our retail partners.

Over the past 4 years, I have struck out on my own business path, founding Splash Happy in 2020, which is stocked in department stores and independent retailers throughout New Zealand.

What started as a “side hustle” in 2020, has evolved into a thriving business…

After having two children in 2016 and 2018, I quickly realised that working in a corporate environment was never going to work for me, alongside the demands of having a young family.

So I left my corporate career at the end of 2019.

Then I took a design idea I had been working on as a hobby project, and I crafted it into something I thought I could sell. After my first trial run of 70 units sold out within a week, I knew I was onto something special!

So I put my past career knowledge into practice and I have spent the last few years growing the business into what it is today. Even with my past career knowledge, it’s certainly been a huge learning curve for me, learning how to manage the financial and technical aspects of running a business.

I’m currently stocked in department stores and specialist hair salons around New Zealand.

If you want to have a peek at what I do, you can find me at www.splashhappy.co.nz

I love helping product based businesses achieve their goals!
